Slimline DVD sets for Region 2???

Until I see verification of this story elsewhere I'm going to remain very skeptical.
Zeta Minor (see below) are usually pretty reliable. They often have the release dates for BBC Doctor Who DVDs before most of the official sites.

http://www.zetaminor.com/dvd/incoming_db/incoming.php

According to them, they're out in two days - 26th May. That's all four seasons on the same day, which although unlikely... happened with TNG, DS9 & VOY. All 7 sets hit the shelves at once, instead of being staggered a few each month. The RRP is £34.99 each and HMV are supposedly selling them at £26.99.

It's a shame I no longer work at WH Smith, otherwise I could confirm they're in the warehouse. Star Trek videos & DVDs used to arrive via courier a few days before, ready for price labelling and security tagging, then put out on Monday.

If they don't, I have the phone number for Paramount (PHE UK) on file somewhere, from my old SE campaigning days! :p

^ That's the same date the HMV website was listing them at, but has since been deleted.
They're not listed at all anymore, and are not and never have been on Amazon or Play
:(

It looks like the Dutch release dates were correct at least: the first two seasons have indeed been released in the Netherlands in slimline form, see here and here. Looks like they are going for something slightly different this time in that the photo of Archer is different on each season.

www.ezydvd.com.au has the covers for all 4 seasons up. They look cool, but not cool enough to force me to double dip though.

Eh, i'll probably buy them when i get bored looking at the original sets...

Appreciated! :techman:

I'd repost the artwork but using 'Save As' only gets you a blank gif.

Content is the same as the 2005 editions, so I'll probably stick with my clamshells. That artwork is tempting though, I'll admit... ENT being my favourite series and all. Maybe if they were doing a Limited Collector's tin... :p

HAHA! I knew someone was gonna post the individual links. I like the 1st and 4th season cover arts the best.

No worries. Just took me a while but then I haven't had my coffee fix this morning. :)

I've sussed out which are the source images from the HTML.

Nice!

Awesome covers! Really hope these do get the Region 2 release.
Though I'll only be buying Seasons 3 & 4 myself

Damn those covers are badass... I was disappointed that the US dvd's weren't colour-coded by season.

Time to get a region-free DVD player and snag these babies!

They're listed on Amazon.co.uk as well now: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h_/026-0563133-6517262?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=star+trek%3A+enterprise&x=0&y=0

Scroll down a bit and you'll see Season 1 Complete and so on, same release date with a price of £26.25. Think I'll pick these up, been waiting for an Enterprise price drop for a long time. I lost track of the series during season 2, which turned out to be the wrong thing to do. Looking forward to catching up with seasons 3 and 4!

^ What's funny is they're on Amazon for £26.25 each, but some of the original sets are on for £24.97!
I'm gonna get the new ones anyway, prefer them to the big bulky plastic boxes which take up too much space.

Here's the artwork for the R2 versions, out 28 July-

Nearly finished working through my X-Files DVDs (two thirds into Season 9) and after that I intend to get these. Season 3 & 4 anyway, personally I'm gonna live without 1 & 2

Yeah the old ones will be cheaper to sell them off. I remember the sales they had for all the other series' boxsets before releasing the new ones. The new ones usually have dropped in price by Xmas to about £18.

Amazon UK are knocking out the original versions for £16-£20 each now.

Anyone heard timescales for a slimline release of the TOS sets?
