Slightly Off Topic, But....

Jerome Bixby sort of expanded upon Requiem for Methuselah with his last piece of work which he started during the 60s and actually finished on his death bed in 1998. It was a screenplay titled "The Man From Earth". It has been made into a movie almost a decade later. I can't believe I missed the premier last Saturday!

Why am I posting this in the TOS forum? Because not only is there an encore screening this Thursday on the 25th with Tony Todd taking questions afterward, but in addition to seeing his final life-long project, his son Emerson Bixby will be there and he's always a treat to meet. Just bring up the subject of Star Trek and he won't shut up. The stories he's told me about his father and what happened on the soundstage while they were filming his episodes are utterly priceless. I'm going to desperately try to meet him again this Thursday and finally ask why he hasn't written a book concerning his father. If he did, it would be a thick book.

Here is the website of the theater it will screen at, which he co-owns. You can even see him in the picture on the left.

Wow, what a find!

Here's an interesting mini-coincidence: The Man from Earth will be released on DVD November 13th--the same day that the "remastered" Star Trek episode "The Menagerie" debuts in theaters across the country.

Oh and p.s., I just checked and Netflix already has this title in their catalogue, so I've added it to my queue.
