Sliders Season 5 to Region 1 DVD on January 17, 2012

^ I think Odo meant Sliders is about $20 a season. I got Sliders season 1 and 2 for $17 years ago. There is only like 20 episodes out of order in one of the worst cases I have ever seen.
If I read you right then the season 1/2 set has episodes not in viewing order? That sucks? That has to mess with character growth and motives.

Then Universal needs to complete SeaQuest, especially since I've got one season to go on Farscape and it's the same showrunner on both. I only watched sporatic episodes of SQ back in the day but for a good price would pick it up.
Rockne S. O'Bannon created seaQuest and co-wrote the pilot, but he left the show shortly after the pilot was filmed and didn't serve as showrunner. The show had a bit of a revolving door when it came to showrunners.

Oh it messes EVERYTHING up! There is an episode in which they slide into a world where San Fran is about to get hit by a 1,000 foot tidal wave, and the next one in the correct order is them grabbing onto a building for life. It's really bad. I printed the correct order out.

Yep. Season One is where it was most noticeable because some of the episodes obviously connected, but Season Two was aired pretty badly out of order as well. The intended order on Season Two gave some set up and insight into a sticky plot point during the second half of the season.

Here is a look at the correct viewing order for Season One and Two:

Season Three also had a small problem on intended airing order as the premiere, "Double Cross", was switched to the season's second episode instead; but the change caused no effect worth mentioning.

The blame for these episode air date mix ups is of course Fox. Fox likes to cherry pick episodes to match up to whatever marketing scheme they think might work at a given time. In the case of Sliders Season One, Fox pulled "Fever" to air as the second episode of the series because they wanted to play off the media attention Dustin Hoffman's "Outbreak" had gotten from its theatrical release just a couple of weeks prior. The actual second episode of Sliders, "Summer of Love" was buried in the middle of the Season One airing order because Fox didn't really like the episode; it didn't matter to Fox that the second episode actually gave the crucial explanation for *why* the Sliders had to reconfigure the device to work as a countdown timer (the scene explaining that being deleted before airing because the producers felt it would just be even more confusing to leave the scene in at that point).

In any case, Sliders has been burdened with the Fox airing order because the people who sell this stuff don't look at what they're selling. The only time Sliders Season One has been presented in its proper order is the reruns on Sci-Fi Channel; but even Sci-Fi never corrected Season Two's order.

To be fair, they were aired that way too.
