Sleeping with trek...what are your favorite episodes?

Hi everyone.

So I need something playing in order to be able to fall asleep at night. Since a lot of Trek is on Netflix, I often use that. My favorite episodes to drift off the sleep with are The Next Phase (TNG), Tin Man (TNG) and Waking Moments (VYG). If anyone else on here does this, what are yours?

Did it with DS9 last week when I was up with gout and wanted something worse to take my mind off it - move along home.

More generally I used to do it a lot when I was younger, based on what vhs tapes I had. angel One/datalore, the battle/hide and q, ultimate computer/omega glory and the first 12 episodes of voyager come to mind as being very well watched.

I do this as well. I've seen most of the episodes so many times that they're familiar. If it were anything too fresh I'd be too keen on paying close attention. But Trek as I fall asleep is like slipping into warm water. I close my eyes and pretend I'm listening to an old radio play.

I need the quieter episodes, but yes, it's familiar and soothing, but still interesting enough that it makes my mind quit yapping and shut down.

I wonder if @Serveaux would take that as a compliment or an insult?

Yeah, it's not about the tranquilizer being slow or boring, but just being familiar enough to soothe you to sleep without tempting you to stay up to watch the whole thing.

When I was a kid, I often fell asleep listening to radio dramas. Quite frequently I'll pop on some Trek to listen to while sleeping, playing it on my phone and placing the phone under my pillow. For some reason, The Ascent works best for this.

This is a perfect description and I also like to do this. TNG in particular is so comfy. My only problem with it is that with Netflix it'll just start the next episode when one is finished and the annoying theme music is so loud and frantic that it wakes me up. :p

Anything from season 1 and 2 TNG, the rhythms of those seasons in particular is perfect for this for me. Especially "The Big Goodbye", "11001001", and "Where Silence Has Lease"

Not an episode, but 12 hours of the soothing sounds of Enterprise-D's engines idling:

I've put on A Taste of Armageddon, All Our Yesterdays, and Bread and Circus while drifting off. As well as a few other episodes that I can't remember. The ones I've seen more often than others. I've also used older Doctor Who stories which I watched endlessly as a child, and happily have them on video once again. And Return of the Jedi, which was the most watched SW movie when I was little (or sometimes just the soundtrack, which works well, too).
