I would like to revisit the piece at some point, add some more airships, even out the details, install some frickin' railings, etc. I just have too many other higher-priority projects on my plate to tackle it any time soon.

I wouldn't sweat railings - people willing to use that sky port are already taking greater risks! Namely, if you anchor such large airships on such closely spaced masts with such long ropes, you're already flirting with death. (Or more like married, with children and mortgage.)
