I think i remember reading somewhere, probably here, that #3 & #4 have been contracted, but there is no set release date yet that I've heard of..

All I've heard is sometime in 2015 for books 3 and 4.

I voted Average. First book was good but I struggled with this one. In book one we got the Changed fighting Starfleet crew, and for most of this one we got the same thing. After a while I felt there was only so many accounts of the two sides fighting I could read.

I found it "unnecessary" slow and a somewhat unsatisfying ending.

Quite good but I felt the overall story would have been better off as 1 book instead of 2

I agree completely. The first book was so much better and felt very fast paced. Second was so bogged down, sad to say.

I really wish I liked these two books more than I did. Mostly I felt the Tomol were not interesting enough to carry the story for two books. One would have been enough.

Also I had a hard time keeping track of the characters, mainly because most of them sound the same. Either they were a quipy and jokey sitcom star who always has the perfect remark or a Spock clone. To be honest this is an issue with several Trek books not just these. No one sounds natural anymore and everyone has to be a comedian.

I plan to keep reading because I enjoy what this series wants to do (I want optimistic old school Trek) but I really want it to be better. Also I think a Who's Who of each crew in the next book might be helpful.

To be honest, I'd be unable to tell Sagittarius's XO and Christine Vale apart, in terms of dialog.

Enjoyed this one. But may have been better for the ending to be more bitter sweet. Make it where they never find a way to free the Endless. And the whole time I was thinking get Sagittarius as far from the Changed as possible.

It was an extremely well written book, but I felt a little disappointed that this all-new series ended up having such heavy ties to Vanguard at the end, which I hadn't read.

Well, it is a pretty direct spin-off of Vanguard, so it makes sense there would be a lot of callbacks to it.

I just didn't know that going in. The marketing led me to believe it was a brand-new jumping-on point -- which it is, but I'd been away from Trek books for a while (with the odd exception here and there), so I was just surprised.
