Skirt Shortness

it's a good book. as a novel, it's no big deal. but it's chock-full of interesting GR-thoughts 'bout his creation. besides all that, it's where the Great Bird gives his blessings to K/S ;)

a good read, all in all.

There could be some "skirt shortness" in the non-Starfleet parts of the film.

But if Uhura's supposed to be a professional, she should look like it.

I love the TOS-era ladies' uniforms. The jury's still out on the uniforms from the upcoming movie.

Well I'd rather trade skirt shortness for less uniform. So... we've got that goin' for us.

Now we'll have to see if the Nurse will wear black stockings or fleshtone... always wondered why they did that, all the other women wore either fleshtone or bare and chapel wore black.

C'mon I'm sure Majel had great gams right?

The sexual urge is what drives man.It is an integral part of man.The sexual imperative shapes and forms us.It is the basis for most commerce as evidenced by commercials and media programming which subsumes the vast collective impinging on our collective conscience.

The original series noted this and strove to free women from the shackles of being cosseted in vast linen clothing hiding themselves, being ashamed, thus freeing them and their spirit.

Nowadays the driving force is maximum skin exposure.Rampant sexuality at maximum, mostly combined with gyrating, thrusting hips resulting often in vulgarity. This not always desired.

While i do not want rampant sexuality i do want rampant or leisurely sensuality as a more aesthetic substitute which would replace vulgarity with beauty and this beauty is universally agreed to be be partially leg exposure as evidenced by short skirts in the original but destroyed by the pc lobby collective who have selectively applied it to Star Trek to the exclusion of others resulting in a largely sterile non-sensous TNG,Voyager,DS9,and a hideous often embarresing attempted sensuality in Enterprise. The result of this in public perception was contributery in making these afore mentioned series sterile and luck lustre resulting in falling ratings.

If Uhura's ass and panties are not visible in this movie when she sits, I'm declaring it an abomination and will be having a word with Abrams and co.

At the very least there should be close ups on the shiny Enterprise corridor floors at strategic places when female crew members are walking by.

W3RD!

Wait a tic - Uhura takes her top off in this movie, Kirk nails an Orion girl like a cheap piece of plywood, and yer worried about the skirts?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Haha. The original series skirts were tacky. Ds9 gave proper throwback to the short skirts in "trials and tribblations" --- definitely completely unnecessary in something we're calling a "reimagining."

This much is true.

Yes, the OS was on the avant garb.

It is the antithesis of sexual liberation.

Yes. Later Trek perverted the pure sensuality of TOS with cheap sops for immature men. TOS was part of a cultural transformation, sadly aborted in the revanchist materialism that followed the cultural revolutions of the sixties.

It is Abrams' duty to reintroduce the true essence of Star Trek with .1 thigh skirts. Also male skants are a necessary manifestation of universal sartorial awakening.
