Skins Series 4

Bob The Skutter

Complete Arse Cleft
In Memoriam
So series 4 of Skins started last night, I've only just started the episode but I have to say I don't like the new remix of the theme tune. I'm wondering how they're going to manage enough episodes to focus on all the characters with the series being cut down to 8 episodes this year.

I think they remix the opening theme ever year, but this year was the most dramatic. In all the previous ones you could always recognize the last few seconds of it, this year was a lot more different and even the ending of it was altered.

As for the episodes I think the only returning cast member not getting a solo episode this year is Panda. Of course the series finales have always been cast-wide and not on a specific character, but I think that I saw this years finale is titled after one of the characters and not called 'finale' like in previous years.

I guess it looks like this storyline from the first episode with the girl in the club is going to be dangling through the series. Next weeks preview had the police involved again. I think it might have had a lot more impact if they had it be Katie instead of just some random girl. Since they've never really figured out what to do with Katie on the show.

The girl-in-the-nightclub underlying plot was the only part that kept my interest to be honest. Thomas' plot was pretty dull, though his little sister had some great lines.

JJ was as good as ever though, and Effy's return at the end gave me hope, but overall this was a strange way to open the new series.

Personally I thought it might be the strongest opener they've had. I gave up on the series after seeing the first one, and the third series I thought the piled too much on...
