News Skeleton Crew

The article's two references to "Frank Tatasciore" are evidently another typo. No doubt they mean Fred Tatasciore. (I checked IMDb to make sure -- no Frank.)

In addition to Jude Law’s star power, Skeleton Crew boasts an impressive team behind the scenes. Jon Watts, the showrunner and director of the MCU’s Spider-Man trilogy, has brought together an all-star crew of filmmakers for the project.

I gotta ask.....

When Disnip signed people for the MCU and Star Wars, did they include a 'you gotta swap franchises' clause in there?

Wow, I never thought we'd see the Teek again, although this one must be smaller, because Teek in the Ewoks movie was a person in a costume, not a hand puppet. And they are actually the second creature from the Ewoks movies to join the new canon, the Bluurg originated in the second movie The Battle for Endor.

A Dulok just recently appeared in an Ewok comic book from Marvel.

I didn't realize that. I might have to check out the Ewoks cartoon on Disney+ sometime.

Were they in the campaign? I've played it twice and I don't remember them being in it.

No only in Multiplayer.

There was a game mode set on Endor at night where one team was Ewoks and the other stormtroopers and the Ewoks have to beat the stormtroopers before they can escape.

Ewoks were later added to the Rebel alliance faction in all game modes as the infiltrator unit.

I never played the multiplayer, so that would explain why I don't remember them.

I know I've mentioned it before, but going by the number of references and allusions over the years there does seem to be a lot of genuine affection at LF for the old Droids/Ewoks cartoons & Ewok TV movies. Partly I think it's because LF was more directly involved with their creative development than basically anything else that now falls under the 'Legends' banner, but also likely it's because the people making creative decisions these days are increasingly of the generation that grew up with that material.

And while we're citing examples; the Gorax from 'Caravan of Courage' showed up in one of the 'Forces of Destiny' shorts (IIRC the one with Mark Hamill, no less!) Plus I think it's presence is at least inferred in BF2 in one of the Endor maps. The blurrgs that were quite prominent in Mando's first season, and had previously show up in both Rebels & TCW; also originate from 'Caravan of Courage' and were indeed a Phil Tippet creation (spun off from a sketch he'd originally done for Empire while designing the tauntaun.)

Nothing especially new jumps out, though the tone of this one seems to play down some of the Amblin vibes of the teaser, and go for a more adventurous high-energy feel with the needle drop, and modern sensibilities with the editing. How much of either is actually representative of the show remains to be seen, but given that this is the piece of media meant to get the attention of the wider audience; I suspect the former.

Okay, so it looks like there is a specific ship that the show revolves around after all, which makes the meaning of the title a bit clearer. Still, it seems like a small enough ship that it doesn't need more than a few operators, suggesting that they aren't literally a skeleton crew (if "literally" is the word there, since it's a metaphor to begin with). So there may be some other meaning behind the title.
