SJA S4 trailer & promo pic

The Henson estate called. Someone's nicked a muppet from "The Dark Crystal"...

Still, SJA is well loved by fans of all ages, and especially classic series fans such as myself due to its classic series feel. There's something to be said about a lower budget and cliffhangers that makes it feel like watching old school Doctor Who (though for me, that was on YTV in the early 1990s). I liked the Doctor's appearance last series, and now I'm quite interested in seeing how Sarah reacts to the introduction of yet another new face. She's probably seen the most of them out of all his companions, with the arguable exception of River Song.

And of course, here's hoping that someday, Rani decides to hop into the TARDIS one of these visits and accompany the Doctor on sexy new adventures in time and space...

agreed, very much looking forward to seeing Sarah Jane and the Doctor together, I hope it still works between them, it is a tradgey IMO that there has not been a short series where Sarah Jane is again a proper companion to the Doctor, without or without Luke, Cylde, Rani etc

The problem with Rani being a companion, is she is going to be all been there done that, the show does like its companions to look in wonder at the world the Doctor shows them.

She's probably seen the most of them out of all his companions, with the arguable exception of River Song.
I was wondering last night, what if River Song guest starred in SJA without the Doctor, how would those two interact? It might be as GB puts it "A fangasm of awesomeness"

Also back to the Mr Smith / Pilot idea, ive been thinking.

What if Mr Smith is not a natural occuring intellgent crystal being, what if he the crystals are advanced tech of another alien race, the advanced tech turning against its creator, the two fighting to the death, and the Xylogs win, rewriting history where they are natural beings. (it could explain Mr Smiths behavour in S1)

Anyways the species who created the Xylog crystals survive the war, but scatted across the galaxy (in need of the crystals to live), one of them tracks Mr Smith, and reavels the truth. The species is something pilot like, and Mr Smith is about to die, only the merger of the creator and the Mr Smith Xylog crystal into being being, so after that Mr Smith is not a computer but an intellgent creature limited in movement, like pilot.

sounds crazy, but if the guy who voices Mr Smith leaves, it might be a way to carry the character on.

Rani may not get awed by meeting aliens, but i bet she'd be awed at travelling to Earth in 8162AD or 1297BC or the farthest reaches of Galaxy 12 in the 46th century....

What's this image? Is there going to be a novelization...?

Indeed there is. All of the Sarah Jane Adventures from "Invasion of the Bane" to "Day of the Clown" have been novelized, some by the screenwriters, some by Gary Russell or other writers. They must have not done too great, though, because they stopped releasing them, with two exceptions: "The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith" and "Death of the Doctor."

I don't see the point of novelisations on TV shows, now we have DVDs and such. Back when the Targets were your only way of revisiting Doctor Who that had already been shown, that's understandable, but why read the book now when you can pop the disc in the machine?

Oh yeah, to keep Gary Russell employed.

It gets the kids more interested in reading, probably.

Worked on me when I was younger. The first "novel" I read on my own was the novelisation of the DS9 pilot.

It is a shame that SJA are only novelisations of the episdoe, ok some new fiction is out on CD, but why not put out some new stories in book form for SJA, like they do Doctor Who & Torchwood
