I don't know whether Janet Fielding would be up for it or not, but I think it'd be great to have Tegan feature on The Sarah Jane Adventures. They did, after all meet briefly in The Five Doctors (though I know there's some debate as to whether Sarah Jane remembers the events of this story).

The Audios did a story called the Three Companions, where Polly met the Brig online after reading an article written by Jo. The third companion was an original audio one, Thomas Brewster.

It worked quite well actually.
