I tried looking but found nothing but if anyone else has found a Season 2 picture with Rani in it could you please tell me so I can change the picture for the threads.

I have a picture which features both Maria & Rani as my desktop, have been looking for one minus Maria but so far no joy.

A good episode. Effectively creepy, and like Sarah Jane, clowns have always made my skin crawl.

Rani seems a bit old for the age group of Luke and Clyde (and formerly Maria). I remember when she was first announced, it was mentioned that the actress was older and it shows. Makes the replacing of Maria all the odder. As for Rani herself, she's a tad arrogant, but I'm sure she'll get past that by the end of the serial.

Interesting to note that now all three of the shows have featured a circus (The Greatest Show in the Galaxy, "From Out of the Rain," and now The Day of the Clown).

^Daniel Anthony is 21, and Yasmin Page is 17. I don't know how old Anjili Mohindra is, but I don't think she can be any older than Daniel Anthony is.

Yeah, that shouldn't surprise me. I think the key is making them look younger, which I think has worked so far with all of them except Anjili Mohindra.

Well thank God! After seeing pics of the new girl I was so afraid some dude in a suit was going to show up in my kitchen and ask me to have a seat.

Plan on watching it in a few minutes.

Well that was nicely done. I ended up rather liking Rani and her parents. Single parents have become such a damn cliche on tv that it's so nice to FINALLY have a child who still has both parents in the picture.(though I'm glad I never had someone like the dad as a principal. Yikes!) Somehow I can't see him being as understanding about SJ's activities as Maria's father.

As always with stories in the DW world these days, it was the little character moments that really made the story. Sarahs little speach about being aparet from someone you cared about was lovely. Luke moping over Maria was sweet, and as stated before, I really like Rani's 'we need to get to the bottom of this!' attitude.
OTOH, as much as I love Clyde, if he's gonna be the cool kid at school, he really needs to come up with some better material. :)

Not much I can say about this weeks villain. Very nicely done, and creepy. The pipers, "I am all that you fear the most and you are mine to feed on...." has a nice shuttery Stephen King implication to it that I hope they don't cop out on in part two (That he needs childrens energy to run his spacecraft or some other nonsense). But definately an opponent worthy of the Doctor. Well, at least 1-3. I think he's probably a bit too God-like these days to be bothered much by a predatory clown. :)

Oops. Looks like I jumped the gun on voting. Hopefully next weeks Pt. 2 won't be a letdown and make a liar of me.

I have to say that I am not a big fan of Bradley Walsh (Spellman), but here he was suitably creepy and impressed me. His Spellman was good, the Clown even better but his actual Piper was a bit bland.

As much as I love the character of Sarah-Jane, I wish she'd stop banging on about lost friends and people leaving her life. In Journey's End she more a less ran away from the Doctor without a long goodbye to get back home to Luke. At the time I thought she'd turned a corner, but nope she's still lamenting over the past. Liz Sladen desrves more to play with than pining after the Doctor all the time.

talking of Jounerys End, when Luke said he had never seen Sarah Jane before, well he had , when she heard the Daleks via Mr Smith.

meanwhile the aliens being stopped by a mobile phone, um havnt you done that before?

at least now we know how to scare Sarah Jane, a Dalek dressed as a clown

meanwhile I tend to agree less of Sarah Jane looking upwards and saying how wonderful the universe.

I like the flashback to Sarah Janes childhood, seems important given some of the set photos ive seen on DWF.

and the new girl, um with her drive we may not need Luke or Cylde anymore, I think she will be good for the show however.

finally Maria nice to hear her voice in the first episode, and the promise of a return, will be interesting to see her reaction to Rani, going to be like when Rose meet Sarah Jane.

As stated above the new girl is HOTTTT!!!!, I just thank the lord she is old enough for me to say that about, and it not be creepy.

I really liked the first episode, but I felt that the second felt a bit clunky. Between the ongoing introduction of Rani, the main story with Odd Bob/Elijiah Spellman, and some of the dialogue, the second episode didn't go as smoothly as the first. That being said, I enjoyed the overall mythos behind the Pied Piper and I loved this quote from the beginning: "There's a time and a place for an interview and being chased by a clown from space is not one of them!"

Another kink in the timeline: Luke mentioned he never had seen Sarah Jane scared until she faced Odd Bob, but at the beginning of "The Stolen Earth," he saw her freak out when the Daleks invaded Earth.

Yep, I was right. I'd give pt 2 more of an Average rating as the story was a bit by the numbers I thought. Still, as always it had some great character development. And two thumbs up for the acter playing Spellman/the clown. Nicely creepy. Wouldn't mind seeing him return at some point.

Hmmm, shots of Sarah as a child, and a referecne to losing her parents. Just a little foreshadowing perhaps? ;)

Not too enthused about next weeks though. The previews looks rather dull.

Although we know from DW that tha worse the trailer, the better the episode.
