Then Abrams should show it being a consistent size, in every shot. And ideally have a major character state on screen the size of the ship, if not exactly, then some thing like Picard's words to Lily during FC.

Let's settle this already. Have Obama give NASA one of those bailout/stimulus checks and have them build a real Enterprise (in orbit). They can leave the nacelles empty until they figure the whole warp drive thing out. And everyone can just wear magnets and velcro until NASA comes up with artificial gravity. That way they can keep the shuttles flying or build new ones. Can anyone imagine what NASA could do with a trillion dollars? Or more?
