    Was it good for you? It was great for me. First the film, then the play itself.

    I finally found a decent print copy yesterday and re-read it this morning.

    Like Catch-22 and The Catcher in the Rye (which it references), its first half has much more humor than its ending.

    Not nominating Donald Sutherland for supporting or perhaps lead role was another Oscar atrocity. He was never funnier than here. He wins best supporting actor for 1993 in my alternate universe.
