Was Sisko's plan to engage in a huge battle w/in the WH and cause its destruction?

I don't blv I ever saw screen evidence of phaser fire inside the WH, so I'm guessin that might destroy it or if a battle did begin, the Prophets would intervent ASAP.

I think the Sisko didn't really have any plan. He was just winging it to kill the immediate threat of the Jemmy ships that were already there, without thinking it through too much or thinking ahead to other issues.

Yah, I think at that point in the time it was just a matter of doing what would be possible to prevent the enemy ships from coming through the wormhole. Not much thought went into it, obviously.

I wonder if it would have been possible to try to collapse the entrance to the wormhole with a warp core breach. The chances for success would have been varied though, as I think once the mines were down that is when they got desperate.

He didn't have a plan. They were just gonna try to take out as many ships as they could before the Defiant went down. At that point it seemed an inevitable loss, and Sisko just wanted to put whatever dent he could into that armada. Fortunately, the prophets stepped in after their exchange with the Sis-ko.

Yeah. Plan, what plan? This was Sisko's Charge of the Light Brigade moment, his decision that if he couldn't stop the Jem'Hadar, he would take as many of the bastards with him as he could.

The plan, such as it was, came when the Prophets decided it was time for a chat.

Personally I always thought that he should have engaged them but set the self destruct sequence hoping that, if he couldn't defeat the Jem'Hadar fleet, that it at least closed the wormhole so they couldn't escape to the Alpha Quadrant.
