The Vinculum? Isn't that a piece of Borg tech that binds the drones of each ship together?

"Vinculum" is just a fancy word for a link or connection, from the Latin for "bind." VGR used it for a Borg interlink component, and Andrew J. Robinson used it in his Garak story "The Calling" (and the 2-man play it's derived from) to refer to a more spiritual type of connection involved with Cardassian mysticism, something which was presented as being extremely like the conditions within the Bajoran Wormhole/Celestial Temple and was implicitly the same thing.

Ah! Gotcha, my bad. I really need to read "The Calling"...

^Right. The Prophets aren't responsible for how other beings have chosen to interpret their inspiration or how they've acted on those interpretations. You can try to teach, guide, or inspire people, but as long as they have individuality and free will, they're likely to take what they got from you and interpret or apply it in ways you never contemplated.

I was filled with anger about what happened with Sisko in this book, but after discussing the matter with DRG III, I came to understand the story and respect what he did with the character, realizing he has a deep understanding of Sisko.
