Sisko in DS9 Relaunch/TNG Relaunch Future works

Will Captain Sisko be playing a role in the upcoming TNG Destiny trilogy or in future DS9 relaunch works? It seems like he's being sort of written out of the DS9 books. I've read most of the DS9 relaunch, including Unity and the Worlds of DS9 book, I'm currently on Warpath, and I wonder how he fits in now in the relaunch storyline, or has his storyline/journey come in to an end in the books?

I imagine Sisko will continue to be active on the Ascendants storyline, or most things relating to the Prophets. Fragments and Omens showed he was taking things easier as a civilian, spending time with his family, but it also indicated that he was foreseeing the coming conflict. With the current arc interested in the MU, and the book after that focused on Cardassia, I don't think we'll see him with a bigger role soon, though.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

Ben Sisko does appear in Fearful Symmetry, and I would expect to see him in the next DS9-R novel, The Soul Key. But Ezri is the only major DS9 character to appear in Destiny, and as was repeatedly stated at Shore Leave, Mr. Mack made sure not to spoil any yet-unwritten adventures of the DS9 gang.

Well, we know that Sisko is still around in late 2379, as the Bacco campaign was hoping to get an endorsement from him in Articles of the Federation, so he he could play a role in Destiny, but for some reason, I tend to doubt it.

But isn't the fact that Ezri's in 'Destiny' a spoiler for the unwritten adventures of the DS9 gang? Given we know that whatever peril she might face in the novels she'll survive AND she'll end up pursuing command - and eventually gaining a command and thus leave DS9 at some point, a year or so prior to 2380, to operate as XO somewhere unless she becomes XO of DS9 and Vaughn dies - so, yeah, plenty of spoilers already.

^"Spoilers" of that incredibly general type are already available about many other relaunch characters from books in other series. (A Time for War, A Time for Peace, Articles of the Federation, and the prologue of The Good That Men Do all reveal the lives and general situations of certain characters in their own respective time-frames.) What's meant here is that Destiny isn't going to have a scene where Dax says, "I remember four years ago when Vaughn betrayed Kira, married Iliana Ghemor, and ruled the Mirror Universe by her side."

That better not be a spoiler for Fearful Symmetry, Brendan, or I might just have to kill you.

...Y'know, I was shooting for something so impossibly over the top that no one could think it was an actual spoiler. I'll try harder next time.

(Musings)
Vaughn wouldn't betray Kira... not without a good reason. Even then, it'd probably be a feint to distract the "enemy" from what's really going on.

More than likely he'd be undercover attempting to secure a beach head for the Rebellion in the liberation of the Mirror Universe via Spock's Plan.

That reminds me.

(Back to reality now.)

Does Emperor Spock's plan for the Terran Empire get followed up on in the New Mirror Universe Anthology?

Please someone say yes.

?

LOL. I would have said I wasn't joking to that, if I had posted something like that. I think Sisko wil make some kind of a small appearence. Would be nice to see him pop up just for a small cameo, even if its a flashback scene.

Is there a Mirror Vaughn?

The Sisko novel I've been wanting to see news about is the Lost era Novel with Sisko and the Tzenkethi war.

Yeah, I was suprised to see nothing about that on the schedule again. I'm starting to wonder if perhaps we won't be seeing that book at all.

To me, it seems; the writers and the people behind the DS9 relaunch havent quite figured out how to fit sisko into the scheme of things. He was gone for a while and everyone else sort of moved on from when he was gone. He was the main character for those 7 years, and now it has gone way beyond what the creators of the show did...perhaps sisko isnt meant to be a headliner after all. although he was in Hollow Men

Well, I definitely see Kira as the "main" character of the post-finale books, despite Sisko's return.

But it's pretty obvious that Sisko is going to play a major role in the conclusion of the current MU storyline, and in the upcoming Ascendants storyline as well, so it's not really fair to say that they haven't figured out what to do with him.
