Sins has Got Me

I'm cheap in the fact that I hate to pay full price for games when they first come out and I don't mind waiting for the first price drop. That said I started playing Sins of a Solar Empire and it has caught me up in the game. The wife says I need to get more sleep, the kids say I'm a little grumpy in the mornings before school, and I catch myself with that eyes closed at the monitor neck jerk. That said, I think it is a pretty cool game and I need to quash my new addiction. Does anyone else play the game and have words of wisdom concerning game play.

P.S.- I've been a gamer since my first 386, but this is my first visit to the Gamer forum. One of these days I'll be asking about getting Dosbox working on Vista or Windows 7. I never get rid of old games.

Greatly enjoyed the game but it was a casualty of my small hdd when I bought Dragon Age and Mass Effect earlier this year. What version are you playing? The original or with some or all of the expansions? I enjoyed the original well enough but the first expansion really made the game for me.

I'm playing the original, and it has been kicking my butt so far. Darned pirates.

I love the pirates. The first expansion added a display on the main interface so you can see what is being bid on the pirates and you can easily increase your bid. In the original I use to sit and watch the trading screen as the timer counted down to make sure I won, which took me out of the game. With that simple addition to the interface in the expansion I could keep going with managing my empire.

Just picked it up for $10 yesterday, spent most of the day playing it. I absolutely love this game. It reminds me somewhat of Homeworld and Star Trek Armada. Then again, there aren't that many space-based RTS games out there. I like that it has the features of a 4X game while also being RTS. What a great hybrid.

I'm thinking I'll sink a lot of time into this game. Between it and Minecraft, I may not see daylight this year.

I love Sins. Such a fun game, it looks awesome, and the scale is incredible. I haven't played the expansions yet, but I've been iching to start playing again, so I might have to make a purchase in the near future...

I never could get into this game. Not sure why, but the gameplay didn't work for me. I love most RTS games too. Ended up selling it on Ebay.
