Hmmm...Spock's Brain- The Apple....Spock's Brain- The Apple...
Gotta go with the Brain here.
You?
Gotta go with the Brain here.
You?
The third of the very worst three IMO.And the Children Shall Lead
That's a continuity nightmare, I grant you, but the underlying story is sound, and Robert Brown was good in the role.Though for shoddy execution, ALTERNATIVE FACTOR is horrible too.
It is the giver of pain, not delight. No, no, no. "Spock's Brain" is pure cheesy goodness. It can't be that bad if it also makes you laugh.
I give it a pass for showing the Enterprise in Earth's sky- original AND remastered! Plus: lots of funny moments. On the other hand, everything about "All Our Yesterdays" just makes me cringe with embarrassment for the actors, except that it was nice to see an episode shot on location.
And the fact that this horrid bit is repeated ad nauseam throughout the entire episode makes me want to become a violent criminal
No, the message is to be careful with your power or the meek might rise up unexpectedly & eff you up. It was to demonstrate the idea that power corrupts, and explore the lack of corruption in the next who gains it, and why. It's gotta be "Plato's Stepchildren." Say what you will about the other episodes. At least they had a plot, where "Stepchildren" is nothing but someone's idea to humiliate Shatner and Nimoy. And what's the message? That being a bully is a bad thing? Give me a BREAK!
It's all very painful to see; I take it seriously as a form of torture in humiliation, though not like waterboarding, which I, like others in America present day see as the REAL thing.Come on guys. Plato's Stepchildren is so funny. I admit to having a somewhat immature sense of humor, but if you all can watch the Horsey Kirk scene without cracking a smile, well, I don't know whether I'm saddened or impressed.
Festival was the way of releasing & purging the pent-up emotions created by the laws of Landru, an idiot program based on a deranged prophet dumped on the planet by mistake. One episode I didn't care for as much as the others was The Return of the Archons, primarily because of the lack of explanation for Festival. Perhaps they wanted the audience to infer the reasons behind it, but it struck me as the writers simply neglecting to wrap it up.
I saw it as torture, too. It's almost as if they were trying to make a comedy out of torture. On the flipside, though, I do wonder if they made it super silly to get the "torture" scenes past the censors. It's really the only explanation I can give for why the episode ended up the way it did. It's all very painful to see; I take it seriously as a form of torture in humiliationCome on guys. Is it just me, or did Landru look like a hairdresser? To make themselves feel better about it.I saw it as torture, too. It's almost as if they were trying to make a comedy out of torture.
Very perceptive. On the flipside, though, I do wonder if they made it super silly to get the "torture" scenes past the censors.
