Sin City 2 News

Some "Sin City 2" news...the film has a screenwriter, "The Departed" writer William Monahan is working on the sequel and Rodriguez says everything else is a go, they're just waiting on the script.

Personally as much as I enjoyed and still enjoy "Sin City" the waiting period has diminished my excitement level. Hopefully this actually happens.

It's been a few years since I watched Sin City, but does it count as Science Fiction?

Wouldn't it fall under fantasy?

Anyway, sounds good, I enjoyed the first one.
Yeah, I'd say it's over the top enough that it qualifies as fantasy.

Maybe, I wouldn't personally equate over the top with fantasy. But as this is still here and not been moved to TV and Media, it would seem the mods agree that a thread about Sin City 2 should be here and not there.

Hmm, I though they already announced it was going to be A Dame to Kill For, or was it just rumors until now?

Ah, I see. Hopefully, I'll get around to checking out the comics before the movie comes out. I love the first one, but I've never gotten a chance to check the actual comics out yet.

Strange, Bruce Willis said he'd come back for the 3rd movie.

Can't believe they are finally going to do this. Didn't think it was going to take so friggin long.

Yeah, I was honestly starting to doubt it was ever going to really happen.

Doubly strange that the Dame To Kill For story teams Marv (Mickey Rourke) and Dwight (Clive Owen), so those are the two who need to return - and Willis' character Hartigan isn't even in it, IIRC.

(Having said that, apparently Rourke doesn't want to be in it, so perhaps they're shoehorning Hartigan into his part in the story)

And just to be awkward it's set between the two storylines that were in the first movie (after The Hard Goodbye, but before That Yellow Bastard)

I looked this up and found a few articles to that effect from 2008. However, a 2010 article seemed to indicate he was game.

^ But doesn't the Clive Owen character have plastic surgery in between the stories?

Dwight gets his face rebuilt *during* A Dame To Kill For - and gets the "Clive Owen" face halfway through - so they'd maybe have someone else in for the first half, but you'd still need Owen...
