Simple "Countdown" (comic) question

Data downloaded his 'essence' into B-4 in 'Nemesis' which eventually asserted itself over the primitive B-4 personality and was deemed fit to basically resume Data's life. Worf apparently went back to serve in the Empire after becoming dissatisfied with the way things were going, and married Grilka. I think this is all 20+ years after 'Nemesis.'

So Worf went back to the Klingon empire again. And B-4 is now Data? IS any of this explianed in any way or what?

Quantum mechanics allowed all of this to happen. That's the easiest explanation out there.

that they've touched on it in the 'Star Trek Online' timeline that appears to coincide with the 'Countdown' comic timeline. I think there was some mention of B-4 going to the Soong institute and LaForge working with him and 'reactivating' Data within. I don't recall the Worf explanation.
The tie-in with the STO timeline is another reason why I don't think this comic will be deemed canon.

It's canon. Why? Because it tells us that the Trek from the past matters. Besides, isn't Countdown as fictitious as the new movie?

Why do we need it to tell us that the Trek from the past matters, though? That shouldn't be the argument for whether it should be canon.

I still dont know how i feel about Countdown. It was interesting, but I found the Captain Data stuff to be kinda hamfisted into the story.

I looked through a copy when I was at the book store the other day. How the hell can there be a Captain Data? Data is dead. And Worf a General in the Klingon empire. When does this take place?

There IS a commander Data. Actually, according to Nemesis Data loaded his memory engrams into B4, his look-alike for all intents and purposes. According to the STO timeline when he died Geordi later on helped to re-activate B4 and Data's personality surfaced. With his help they managed to design a new Positronic Brain that was capable of Holding all of Data's thought processes and Data requested and was granted a re-activation of his Starfleet commission shortly before Jean Luc Picard retired.
