Simon Pegg to appear at Comic-Con

I know this is off-topic, but why is Spaced being promoted all of a sudden in the US? I've been reading about it a lot in blogs recently and I don't understand- has it only just arrived in the US or something?
I think the current activity has got to do with the US DVD release. I know the show aired in Canada but I'm not sure that it has in the US.

It's being released for the first time on R1 in a couple of weeks' time, so they're doing the publicity rounds.

Ah, I see!

Yes, it was very silly indeed. I think most of the delay was down to the music rights - so often the reason for stuff not getting onto DVD, sadly. Obviously they sorted it out in this case.

That or C4 didn't want to take the risk, fearing low sales, instead opting to leave Spaced behind opting to produce big brother and those god-awful documentaries.

Clue me in folks. I never heard of SPACED... :cardie:

His acting ability doesn't much matter since Scotty isn't a complex role. Paul McGillion was available for the part, looks incredibly right for the role, and is a good enough actor that he could have handled the part every bit as well as Pegg could

He actually does doesn't he.

Is Pegg really stunt acting? How well known is Shaun of the Dead outside the UK?

Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are brilliant.

I've nevre been to the UK.

The short form: a guy who fancies himself as a comic book artist (he isn't) and a girl who fancies herself as a writer (she isn't) meet in a coffee house. They've both ended relationships and have nowhere to live, so they pose as a married couple and share a flat together. Misadventures ensue. The cast and crew feature a lot of the regulars who appear in Pegg's "Shawn of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz".

It also features a vast number of sci-fi homages and references, from the Matrix, through Star Wars (one was Pegg's character referring to another as "You Lando!" when betrayed), Jurassic Park, and even Scooby Doo.

I'll take this opportunity to remind people to be careful about your Quote tags. The two posts preceding this one are attributing to others things which they did not say.

M'Sharek...couldn't you, conceivably, go into those posts and correct the quote tags if you so desired?

I totally recognize your point about being careful to AVOID such errors in the first place, but the one above your post actually involves one of YOUR earlier posts.
