Sim City 4 OH NOES

After reading this thread I played SimCity 4 for four hours last night.

Easily one of the best games out there in my opinion, though in all honesty I did prefer SimCity 3. Alas my new computer refuses to install either, so I'm left with societies as my only playable Simcity. Is this likely to be a Vista issue or a graphic card issue?

Probably graphics card. I am running SimCity 4 perfectly on Vista (Business x64 edition) and it's worked perfectly since I upgraded to Vista in 2006.

Thanks! I was hoping that it was one of those games which had failed to make the jump. In which case it was simply a matter of buying a vista compatable version. Damn it! I guess no Simcity goodness for me then 'til Simcity 5 (should it ever appear.).

It's funny you mention the game - I'd just reinstalled it last weekend.

Created a brand new region filled with beautiful mountains and valleys - North Ravesceneia.

Now time to ruin the countryside by building a city there....

If SC4 doesn't work on your graphics card, odds are that later ones won't either.
