Silly thought I had while I was watching Defiance.

So finally finished this series .... I wish it had been properly concluded but it is what it is. The ending to season 3 would have served well enough for a season close and still could have left things open enough had they wanted to pick the show up again where they had left off.

But it got me to thinking if those aliens were real...

For example the Sensoths could have been Bigfoot.
Neanderthals could have been Irathients.
Albino people could have been Castithans left stranded on early Earth.

I enjoyed DEFIANCE.

There were elements of the finale that reminded me a lot of the series finale of EARTH FINAL CONFLICT, though.

According to Kevin Murphy had they had a fourth season that would have been the end and would have taken the show back into space with the Votans.

I'm kind of glad it ended then. To have the Votans leave after everything that happened is kind of a weird way to end it. I like the ending where they and us live in peace on a fucked up Earth.

At the same time, kind of curious to how they would get back into space.

They wouldn't have left Earth altogether. But space would have been a part of the fourth series. I think something with humans and Votan going into space again. Well we had those purple guys and they seemed to have working spaceships so I imagine had they been part of series 4 that's how they would have done it, or the Votans would have given humans advanced tech to get into space. I don't know. I wish they had been given a proper full season send off.

I'm not sure I like the idea of them going into space. I kind of like the setting of a future earth, better. I would be very open to exploring more of the earth in this show IMO.
