Silicon Valley (HBO)

I think that the persistent argument is that they killed Christ.

That is a commonly cited excuse for Anti-Semitism, but I think it's an effect rather than a cause. There's a culture of Anti-Semitism and people who buy into it latch into any excuse they can find.

So here's billionaire math:

Murdering people and their entire families after brutally working them to death = Asking they pay a slightly higher percentage of their wages in taxes

Trying to globally monopolize natural resources to benefit yourself by selling people in developing countries things they need to live at a large markup they used to be able to get for free = Doing nothing wrong

If somebody handed me a billion dollars instantly, sure. But if I made a billion dollars through business, I probably could not have done it just by offering a quality product and competing fairly in the free market. Even if I did offer a quality product that was that much better than my competitors I would have had to behave just like Hooli and threaten all the suppliers to prevent smaller companies from catching up.

But yeah, you're right, I overgeneralized in that statement. :)

Silicon Valley is the new Parks and Recreation for me. It's hilarious with an awesome cast and this season things have gotten so much better than season 1 and I loved Season 1.

I strongly dislike the way that episode ended.

The show has gone to the 'Sudden reversal of fortune' well several times already. So the plot device is already getting tired, but they did it this time in a way that didn't make any sense. On what computer system will accidentally holding down the delete key result in the irretrievable loss of all data on the system? And what the hell large company would ever entrust all of their data to an outside company without backing it up?

That was just dumb.

If shows are going to repeat themselves that much, they'd better find less completely random and stupid ways for it to happen.

Yeah, it certainly was dumb. But at least we got Richard's tequila spit-take, which was a thing of beauty.

Agreed on all counts. I love the show but last night was the first time the writers hit a stumbling block for me. I hope they course correct with the remaining two episodes.

Count me in. All of a sudden, Richard is a total moron? Where the hell did that come from?

Also, tequila on DEL button gimmick was terrible. Come on Mike Judge, you're better than this. :/
