i second that. Both Shat & Nimoy shouldn't be in this movie. Their time has passed and its time to pass the torch to the younger actors.

I'll back that up - Nimoy's presence, if at all significant, will only serve to undermine audience acceptance of Quinto as Spock and open up Quinto to endless comparisons while preventing him from playing the character how he wants, reducing his job to imitating Nimoy.

Yeah, and I'm mad as hell that Adam West won't be in the new Batman movie.

Seriously, sign a petition without even seeing a script?!? Maybe, according to the script, it's a really stupid idea to have him in the movie. Maybe you're petitioning to make the movie worse. I'm a huge fan of original Trek, but I wouldn't presume to understand the script better than those who are making the movie.

Nimoy and Quinto have a strong resemblance (bone structure) - I think it'll work in their favor. It's sheer luck they got such a good match and I think the audience will appreciate it (plus the acting, which I am confident in.) But if they hadn't gotten a younger actor with such a stong resemblance, I'd be saying No Nimoy, too.

We only need one oldie to pass the torch and Nimoy's it. Since he's been out of the public eye, he's still more strongly associated with Spock vs Shatner who's done more in his career to diversify beyond Kirk.

So you have read the script and know that the role works? So you know that Mr. Shatners requirements for money and screentime are reasonable?

You want kirk?...you are getting kirk. In a big budget film made with a new team going back to basics. A film being made after a canceled show and two disappointing films.

wewantkirk is a genuine petition site - they seem to be having issues with some people - I can get to them fine, however.
leadprophet wasn't linking to a real site with wewankkirk, it was just a reference to those who are in masturbatory excitement over getting the Shat back in Trek.
An attitude to which PTM just pretty much summed up the response.

Although we assumed Christopher Pike was your average corporeal human, he was in fact a super powered Wesley Crusher from the 24th century, who - while in the vicinity of the 23rd century, observed the real Christopher Pike killed by Suliban sent back by Future Guy! Knowing Pike's importance, SuperWes took it upon himself to assume his identity and fulfill history.

Now when no one else is about, Pike can assume his true identity and give the camera a sly wink. Brilliant!

Here's the answer:

Surgically remove William Shatner's eyes and implant them in Chris Pine. That way, we'll get the brown hazel we all know and love rather than Pine's glassy blue, and we can have this credit:
