A friend found this link through Slashdot, and I'm amazed at the staggering potential here. Essentially, we're talking about items that interact with each other to create an astounding number of permutations. You can see but a fe examples in this seven minute clip, presented by MIT grad student David Merrill.
 
Even if this is do-able... is there really any point to this?

I don't know if I'd want the toys to be smarter than my kids...
 
He didnt show us that we could stack them and have something happen. He is still moving a mouse on a two dimensional plane. Now what about the batteries??
