Do you use the sidebar in your browser?

well yeah... i use it for chat, but not for bookmarks, navigations or anything like that lol

As for an explorer sidebar, nope... not at all... tend not to use explorer most of the time if i can get away with it, much easier just to use run commands and prompts to jump around my system

:rommie: I almost exclusively use explorer to access my files and folders -And run programs that aren't in my quick-launch :rommie:

lol, well most of my work is media based, and i have shortcuts / macros set up on my desktop and keyboard to star up any software i need to run...

when i'm actually in the software, say photoshop, bridge, premier pro or such, i can just use the touch screen to 'fling' the media i need into the software from bridge... so loading images, video, sound or whatever is just a finger drag away...

advantage of having touchscreen and well organised media folders lol

Never; hate the bugger. I've managed to eradicate any need for it with some extensions so Firefox mimics how IE deals with Favorites (a much cleaner solution). I only use it on the very rare occasions I need to access the History, for which it's OK. But otherwise, I've removed the waste of space.

I rarely use the sidebar. I open it up on rare occasions for easy viewing of history, or when I am checking my RSS feeds through Internet Explorer, but once I've found what I need I make sure it goes away. My home page is customized with a lot of the stuff I view on a regular basis, including a list of my most used sites, so after opening my browser I click those links to get everywhere.

My mom loves the sidebar and thinks it's the only way to navigate the internets. When I close it she gets confused and doesn't know how to get to Facebook anymore.

I'm curious now: do those of you that don't use a sidebar in a browser also not use a sidebar when browsing through your folders and files?

Yes, I always use the sidebar in Explorer (and I do use Windows Explorer a lot for finding files). It was there by default and hasn't occurred to me that you could make it go away. I wouldn't want to though, I find it to be useful for viewing folder hierarchies.
