Siddig El Tahir El Fadil El Siddig Abderrahman Mohammad Ahmed Karim...

Re: Siddig El Tahir El Fadil El Siddig Abderrahman Mohammad Ahmed Kari

As opposed to the Americans blowing things up on a much larger scale using planes, bombs and drones.

yeah, but at least they dont target civilans. yes, their aim sucks. but they're not trying to kill civilians.

if those Jihadists would start to bomb military bases, police stations, factories and infrastructure you cold consider them freedom fighters, but as long they target cafe's schools and hospitals they remain, at least in my eyes, murderers.

now. i study religion, its one of my intrests, and well, i cant see where this is permitted in the Quran. might be because i'm a catholic, i dont see it that way but i simply dont get it. and the worst thing is, that they're messing up the lives of their own kind.

It saddens me that he is typecast so often! He doesn't even look like he's from the middle east, but he still gets typecast? Well at least he gets roles unlike many of the other ST actors...
How is he typecast? Because he often plays people from Middle East? What is wrong with that? Is Tom Hanks typecast because he's played far too many WASPs? Siddig has played the romantic lead ("Cairo Time"), a British Prime Minister ("Doomsday"), an undercover agent fighting against terrorism ("Spooks"), a reformed terrorist ("24"), a prince/foreign minister of an Arab country ("Syriana"), Hannibal Barca (BBC TV movie "Hannibal"), another historical figure, Persian historian and scholar Imad ad-Din ("Kingdom of Heaven"), and Angel Gabriel ("Nativity Story").

Yeah he just often is stuck in the role of the terrorist. Those are the only roles I have seen him in since Star Trek. Forgive me for not being familiar with his other work. I've seen him in 24 and in Syriana and he played a Middle Eastern leader of an unknown country and a terrorist. I just think he deserves to get some roles not confined to that. You can't compare him and Tom Hanks because Hanks gets to choose what movies he's in.

Personally, I think he is a positive face to what Middle Eastern people and Muslim people are like, instead of the violent negativity that is shown on the nightly news in the United States.

Perhaps somewhere out there, there is an American that can put a positive face on the militaristic houligans who have toppled entire governments all in the name of getting more oil and/or money, which is a prime cause of all that violent negativity. Ah, one can dream...

I like Alexander Siddig, the mere mention of his name nearly got me laid once. But, that's a story for another time.

And.. Typecast?? He's played a Prince twice (Syriana and Kingdom of Heaven), a god (Clash of the Titans), the PM of Great Britian (Doomsday), the Angel Gabriel (The Nativity Story), and a 24th century Doctor.

I just don't see him as typecast.

I just don't see him as typecast.

I have never heard of some of those movies. I guess it does mean he's not being typecast, so my apologies. But from what I have seen it seemed like he was being put in the role of a terrorist or a Muslim leader all the time just because of his name. Maybe typecast is the wrong word idk
