Shuttlecraft name question.

This might have been discussed somewhere, but I haven't been able to find it...

So, Bones and sick Kirk are on their way up to the Enterprise, they board the shuttlecraft Gilliam.

I was wondering whom that craft was named after.

Shuttlecraft are named after people; Columbus, Galileo, Hawking and even; Berman, Onizuka.

Could this particular craft be named after Jim Gilliam?

Anyone know anything about this?

Perhaps it is named after Terry Gilliam. I was expecting the shuttlecrafts Cleese, Idle (good name for a shuttle there ), Chapman, Jones and Palin (see what they did there? :guffaw:) too.

I've considered that possibility, but then Michelle Phillips (born Holly Michelle Gilliam) is a more logical person to be behind the name -after all she did appear on TNG.

Bit obscure - but I expect it will come out from one of the props team or JJ at some point.
