Showing my inner nerd

Rÿcher

Fleet Captain
Star Wars fans, ever do this:

enter or exit a store or facility with automatic sliding doors and as you approach, sort of wave your hand in that slick jedi fashion as if using your will to open the doors?

Yes, I have, actually. Enough that people with me have commented on it.

Of course, I didn't start until after Episode II, when we got to see the proper Jedi hand motion for door-opening. I wouldn't have wanted to get it wrong. :D

no one wants to see my inner nerd?

I used to always do the hand-wave, though very subtly. Not so much in the past year or two though.

I was doing this long before anybody ever heard of Jedi Knights.

Please, that's nothing. Sometimes when I head off somewhere in my car, I'll do Picard's "Engage" move with my fingers. lol :D

I've been known to walk into an elevator and say "Bridge" when the doors close... :D

I've lost track of the number of times I've stuck a gizmo against my brother's neck and made a hissing sound.

Car charger plugs work best for this....

yes. and when pulling the back door shut at work, i make a kind of pulling gesture to 'ensure' it swings shut behind me...:bolian::rommie::alienblush:

Yeah, but I did that with subway train doors also...and it was because I'd seen X-men and Magneto is awesome. And it was more a flick then a wave.
