Showdown Storm (as shown in x-men 147 v. Thor

Who would win?

Thor the Asgardian god of thunder, son of Odin, champion of Asgard or Storm, called a goddess by some, the Wind Rider, the Weather Witch. Now to even the odds a bit, because basic self controlled Storm would be no match for Thor. How about the Storm entomb alive by a Doctor Doom robot, who showed the apex of her power in X-Men 147.

She created a hurricane that covered the entire US Eastern Sea Board and seemed every much a goddess as Thor is a god.

So I guess the question is what would win out Storm's mutant control of the weather or Thor's magical control.

My post may seem to favor Storm, but I think it would be a toss up, each could deflect a weather attack, but Thor does have his hammer. I do wonder though if he can be separated from his hammer if he is pushed out of its way as it's returning to him by Storm hitting him with a lightening bolt and a tornado.

Thor would crush her. It wouldn't even be a contest. He has all of her powers plus Mega strength and invulnerability. One throw of his magic hammer would kill her. If he wants to be really nasty he can use the anti-force power used to slay other gods.

I give the win to Thor since he is a god, but I don't think Storm would be as easy to take out as Broberfett suggests. I think Storm could give him quite a battle. For one, I think Thor would underestimate her and it might give her the initial edge. But eventually I think Thor's strength, endurance, and ferocity would overwhelm Storm.

It's rare that the writers have every really shown the extent of Storm's powers. I was reading the Worlds Apart miniseries and she commanded an awesome amount of power in that story that is not too often depicted. So, she has the potential to perhaps almost rival Thor in weather-making capabilities. She also might even be able to create different types of conditions than Thor. Thor can create lightning and cause storms (I believe), but Storm can do that but also create snow, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.

Thor can fight the most powerful the Marvel Universe, and many other universes, have to offer. Storm, while powerful, cannot match the God of Thunder. Her power does not override that of a god. He can simply tell the thunder to go away, or redirect it at her.

I went with Storm in the poll

The basic question was "Who wins Storm as in issue 147 or Thor?"

And the first thing I saw was some artwork of Storm. Thor may be hunky but I like the "femmes". So Storm it is in my book!!



Now if they fought - yeah, I too think that Thor should win. Unless Storm is fighting Donald Blake and is able to get his stick away from him or something.

God vs Moratal...Thor wins. Of course, if the writers want Storm to win, then we will have to see Thor get neutered.
