Shouldn't they have used Riker like a Mule?

But she wasn't Queen yet.

Surely a bare cheeked, soft as an androids bottom, L'l Riker could have turned the Princesses eye?

I don't find him remotely hot, I think he is the most repulsive character in Trek.

Yes he may have turned her eye while he was still a smooth cheeked cadet or whatever.. but I bet there were men far more interesting to her. I think she would have rather quickly labeled him a pretty boy quite full of himself and moved on to someone actually INTERESTING with, you know.. ideas.

After four years of Greg and Dharma, you know who I think is just great a ball of man goodness?

Kyle Riker.

Now that would be one of the few reasons she would turn down young Riker, because of a previous tryst with his father because a true lady does not swing from branch to branch on a family tree like some sort of incestuous sex monkey.

(I thought Will looked better with the beard.)

I'm thinking back to the contempt I felt reading Jeri's Marysue love letter to Janeway about how she was Space Sandra Dee (Stockard Channing Rules!) because it draws into contrast Picard's choices in Tapestry how that smoothing out all the youthful wrinkles and indiscretions in his history turned himself into a nobody loser, but then Janeway who had no youthful wrinkles and indiscretions still got to sit in the Captains Chair, it's almost like she didn't even have to give a rats asses worth of effort.

Makes one wonder if it wasn't glad handing the admiralty that got her a ship rather than kicking ass, after her talk about being able to grease (is the word, is the word!) out of any legal censure no matter how guilty she might really be.

From TrekCore.com

JANEWAY: My apologies, Commander. To you all. My name is Kathryn
Janeway.

RIKER: (reacts) Janeway. The captain of U.S.S. Voyager?

JANEWAY: That's correct, Commander. You're aboard Voyager. We're lost in
the Delta Quadrant. As much as I wish you could tell them that when you
get home, your memories will be wiped before you're sent back.

Accordin' to the script, Janeway knew sendin' a message back would be useless.

But I still say Riker was from before the ship launched, 'cause of the commbadge.

Well if Janeway was involved in the production of the ship, if Voyager was the first of the intrepid line (though that seems unlikely since rule of thumb, with some glaring exceptions, the first should be called the Intrepid) shaking down the Intrepid Class is a very important job compared to receiving something tried and tested, she could have been on the books as the Captain for years before her historic 2 week mission... I always compare the mission to the odyssey, but after the word "Inidan hunting" flashed across my temporal lobe, the lost 3 hours of watching John Wayne chewing the panoramic scenery in "The Searchers" resurfaced with some dread.

I did say sending a message surreptitiously because I knew about the brain wipe when I made the first post and commented on it in the original post.

She knew Q was in charge of their transport through time & space. How do ya "surrptitiously" get a message past an omnipotent alien?

Which is why it's a good question!

I said in his sock, but the darker humorists in here couldn't help but talk about Frakes anus as a secret lock box for Janeways thoughts and distress.

How do you outsmart a god?

Kirk never bothered to out think Gods.

Burying the almighty dismembered sods works better because only harry Kim can be outthought by a corpse... Oh Lindsay you charming frakking corpsebride, you made him bark like a dog didn't you?

The bad part is, they didn't even have the smartest god in the room on their side. Everywhere Quinn went to hide after they beamed him aboard, Q found 'em...

The Klingons supposedly killed their gods.

B'Elanna was never really constantly aggressive enough for my tastes.

Q was more of an idiot to run than Q was a genius to tree the deathwishing SOB.
