Should they bring back the Missing Pieces? (spoilers to S5 finale)

I loved the Missing Pieces that were introduced between seasons 3 and 4 - small mobisode scenes which added to the mythology of the series and had some great moments, such as Juliet meeting Michael in the Others' camp, Ben and Juliet struggling to cope with Walt's powers in Room 23, the first encounter with Frogurt, Jin blowing his top on the golf course, much more of Arzt's backstory, a tender moment between Sun and Michael, and of course Vincent's only centric episode. :D

I think, now that Star Trek is done and dusted (until the sequel) the makers should consider creating a few more missing pieces up until season six begins. These could definitely fill in some gaps in the narrative, and also be an excuse to bring back much loved (and otherwise) characters who are no longer with us.

Of course, the scenes are supplementary to the show and wouldn't really add anything of worth except for fan interest - substantial plot elements, of course, should be saved for the show itself. :)

Scenes I'd like to see if they ever do this:

  • A scene explaining more of Desmond's actions from early season 2's "Orientation" including the roles of the then unseen and unheard-of failsafe key and "Our Mutual Friend", and where the Elizabeth was all this time.
  • Speaking of the Elizabeth, how about a scene showing a little more of Libby's presence at the Santa Rosa Mental Institute?
  • How Rose and Bernard got to where they ended up by the time of the events of "The Incident".
  • Perhaps a scene where Paulo meets "Henry Gale" in the Hatch, identifies him as the guy from the Pearl, then is blackmailed into not revealing Ben's identity by discussing the diamonds in the Pearl toilet.
  • The Tampa Job™ - guest starring Robert Patrick if possible.
  • The Basra Incident™
  • A flashback showing Boone's life as a lifeguard. Somehow it should feature Shannon in the mix, and maybe even Jacob (who doesn't touch either of them).
  • How Ana-Lucia lost her unborn baby. (Another excuse to bring Jacob into the flashback too.)
Good idea? Damon and Carlton reading this?

Oh they should definitely bring the mobisodes back! I loved them the first time around. The ones with Hurley and Frogurt fighting over Libby, Sun and Michael coming closer and Ben and Juliet wondering about Walt were my favorites.

Somehow I doubt, though, that they'll produce new ones before the next season starts. By now we would have already heard of plans to do them, wouldn't we?

Timeline doesn't add up. He doesn't put the pearls in the toilet until season 3.

Uh, she was shot, no?

No. Nikki and Paulo discovered the Pearl way before Locke and Eko did. It was around that point that Paulo hid the diamonds and happened upon Ben (and I think Juliet too).

Yes. But it was still a pivotal moment in Ana-Lucia's life. Had she not been shot, she wouldn't have exacted revenge on her attacker, wouldn't have quit her job and become an LAX security guard, and wouldn't have gone on her Australian bender with Christian and had the need to board Oceanic 815. So it's still an important period in her life that's worth following up on. (And one in which I suspect Jacob might have played a role, if they dare show that scene in the future... ;))

Ah right. For some reason, I thought he hid it in season 3, not recovered it in season 3.

What bugged me about this one was that during this time, all the Others were keeping up their deception and wearing their disgusting thrift-store castaway clothes. And when Walt tried to tell Michael about this deception, they had him quickly taken away before he could say anymore. Yet Juliette appear to Michael in her normal clean clothes. She should have been wearing her smelly dirty clothes. If nothing else, Michael should have asked her why she was so well-dressed.

If they're going to do more Missing Pieces segments, I'd like to see what happened when Ben first hooked up with Hawking. I waited all season for that scene in flashback, but we never saw it.
