Should there be Sub-Colors for the main 3x Divisions within StarFleet?

Given that there are 3x main divisions that have sub specialities, should there be Division Specific Sub-Colors integrated into new Uniform designs in the future?:

Command Division:
- Flag Officers (Admiralty)
- CO | 1iC = Commanding Officer / Skipper / Captain
- 1/O | 2iC = 1st Officer / First Mate / Executive Officer
- 2/O | 3iC = 2nd Officer / Second Mate /
- Pilots
- Communications Officers
- Records Officers
- Gunnery Officers
- TAC Officers
- Strategic Operations Officers

Operations Division:
- Engineering
- Security
- Tactical
- Communications
- Yeomen
- Personnel
- PortMasters
- Operations

Sciences Division:
- Various Science Departments
- Medicine

If there should be new Primary Division Colors, what should the Sub-Colors be?

I actually use to think the TNG medical crew wore green & the sciences wore blue. Turns out they just wore those costumes a lot more, & they faded lol

However, I actually do think medical professionals should have uniform differentiation, as they do in most uniformed institutions. You want to be able to distinguish the life savers in most situations. I don't want to have a medical emergency going on during an evacuation, & inadvertently assume some botanist or physicist is going to help me save a life

I like in the Odyssey uniforms they have the white to represent captains. Makes them standout more.

Isn't exactly what they did with the TWoK uniforms? - there were more than three divisional/departmental colors being used for the undershirts for those uniforms.

but the TWoK uniforms had WAY too much red in the main colors and it over powers / draws visual attention away from the small amounts of color for divisions / sub-divisions.

I noticed myself that in movies 2 - 6 the uniforms were red enough to have that cool. blood-clottish look. It made the uniforms kinda fun, actually.

There doesn't need to be that much more space used for the division colors - we're not on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier. The shipboard environment of a Federation starship is basically like a corporate office building most of the time. The collar and some sleeve trim is more than enough.

Yeah, it really did. I think the shoulder colored uniforms was a plenty of color, but TWOK was way too much emphasis on the red.

TMP had six colours. (Blue was avoided due to bluescreen):
Command - White
Orange - Science
Green - Medical
Yellow - Helm/Communications
Red - Engineering
Grey - Security

Later movies:
Command - White
Blue/grey - Science/Communications
Green - Medical
Yellow - Helm/Engineering
Red - Cadet
Black - Security
Violet - Services
Dark blue - Federation Forces

Similar with security and engineering, you should be able to tell the cops from the wrench turners.

Yes, there should be more colors. And they should be as distinct from each other as they can be, no blue-green for one, and green-blue for another.

Per Discovery, it turns out that black was actually Section 31 the whole time.

I wouldn't have a problem with there being that distinction, but I'm not bothered by there being none either. The distinction isn't as vital imho, as knowing from a glance who are the trained medical professionals. None of them are cops really, & any of them could be officers, which is essentially the same thing. It's just another duty assignment in their quasi-military
