Should there be cars in Discovery?

This brings up another good point. In Nemesis, we see the 'Argo' buggy do a couple of insane jumps, the most extreme one being at the end of its appearance, when it leaps into the back of the waiting shuttle. How did everyone come away from that outing without smashed crotches from all the bumps and jumps? For that matter, how did they not become hamburger meat on the back of the shuttle's bulkhead when they crashed inside it?

Shock absorbers, just like any other dune buggy.

Inertial dampeners, just like in Trek starships?

I'm not against cars in Star Trek but I don't want to see any unless they're story related. The transporter is great to get people from A to B; the shuttles are great if they want characters to have a scene together separate from the ship. They could do alien cars but I can't imagine them doing them well. Spend the money on something else.

In all seriousness, a Federation exploration rover (like those below from many other sci-fi franchises) would be nice but I doubt that Discovery has the budget for it.

Prometheus transport

Mass Effect Mako

The Martian rover

Battlestar Galactica Landram

Aliens APC

Damnation Alley Landmaster

Lost In Space Chariot

Ark II... Ark II

I would definitely be interested in seeing the Starfleet version of (something like) those. And no, I don't think the Argo counts as it. Neither does this!

Forbidden Planet had two.

I think it would be awesome to have one of the characters own a Walter White-style RV and periodically go on camping trips with it. They could also use the RV in situations where the transporter is acting up and can't beam the characters to the site they need to get to.

There needs to be seat belts on the damn starships in Discovery...that never made any sense, thankfully STID corrrected that oversight
Cut scene from the end of Nemesis, Picard activates the harness built into the captain chair.

I am... dying to see this fascinating content.*

Me too. You could write an exciting B-plot into the story involving the RV's propane stove blowing up or the RV blowing its transmission out or something.
