Should the studios recut Season 3 of PIC into a feature Film?

But don't you guys want the cinematic experience?
I'm going to theatres less and less these days as the "cinematic experience" is turning into a pain in the ass as I get older. As it is, I think MCU movies are the only movies I bother with in the theatres and that's only so I can be caught up when the next Disney+ series premieres.

As a matter fact, why not two? With two, we get the "complete" six-film series that should have happened with the TNG crew, and, if we're lucky, Metalas can get more money for new shoots and reshoots. Just saying.

No.

But don't you guys want the cinematic experience? I am SURE that a film cut (with two films in the can) could work, and such a cut could have limited release. JMO, I guess.

The cinematic experience is me trying to watch a film while other people are talking and getting pissed off that people can't enjoy a movie without opening their smartphone to check Facebook every ten minutes. Plus exorbitantly priced tickets and food.

So still no.

I would watch the whole of Picard seasons 1-3 recut in to a movie if Quentin Tarantino wants to direct it.

That's a bit of a dim thing to say, TIm.

It's already been filmed, so Tarantino wouldn't be directing. He'd be editing.

Total Runtimes without Credits (except for Episode 10) and Recaps:

301. "The Next Generation" --> 50 minutes
302. "Disengage" --> 45 minutes
303. "Seventeen Seconds" --> 52 minutes
304. "No Win Scenario" --> 54 minutes
305. "Imposters" --> 50 minutes
306. "The Bounty" --> 48 minutes
307. "Dominion" --> 43 minutes
308. "Surrender" --> 48 minutes
309. "Vox" --> 44 minutes
310. "The Last Generation" --> 62 minutes
Total: 496 minutes --> 8 hours, 16 minutes

The credits are three minutes long and the recaps are about a minute-and-a-half, so I took all of those out, except for one time for the credits.

8 hours and 16 minutes gives you either:

1. Three 168-minute movies (adding the credits back in)
2. Four 124-minute movies (adding the credits back in)

Given the way movies work nowadays, I'd go with the former. So we got the equivalent of a new trilogy of nearly three-hour long films. So, if you want think of PIC Season 3 as a Movie Trilogy, pretend this is what it was, and nothing even needs to be cut out.

BTW, it's also only a slightly longer runtime than if you put TWOK, TSFS, TVH, and TUC together.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan --> 113 minutes
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock --> 105 minutes
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home --> 119 minutes
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country --> 110 minutes
Total: 447 minutes --> 7 hours, 27 minutes
