I remember in the 80s there was the fanon idea that the Federation characters were speaking something called "Standard" -- ignoring the three or so occasions English was specifically called out as the language being spoken in TOS.These guys live centuries in the future after all, even if they still speak English it's bound to be noticeably different from what we speak today.

So the universal translator translates at the point of hearing it - so why is it when Aliens speak English their lips meet with what they're saying? It should look like a badly dubbed Zilla movie - I know the reason is real life and all that - just a bit of fun.
