Aren't some of the funniest sketches things that are taped anyway? (Like the fake commercials, or the animation)
Like they said -- a mix of live (just for the sake of Staurday Night LIVE), and taped (as most people will watch it on YouTube anyway, if it's funny.
Are the musical guests really necessary? They could be clipped.
And they need some fresh blood, who is actually funny. Even Darrell Hammond, who i think is great, seems very tired. His early Jesse Jackson was hilarious & amazing; currently, it seems like he's going through motions.
They ought to get Alphacat, who does an amazing Barack Obama.
And speaking of him....they ought to do some YouTube contests, and have the winners do their schtick on the show....they can save some money on cast memebrs, and get more people excited ("hey, watch me on REAL TV, not just YouTube!")
