Should I upgrade Ipods?

^It goes back to my original question. I have 948 songs on Itunes now, and I subscribe to podcasts. I want to still keep that stuff, but I know a 4 gig just isn't enough anymore. I guess in the long run it's not really that much (And 16 gigs is good for at least a few years). Also, I am wondering why can't I just upgrade my current ipod via a chip or something. I guess it wasn't designed for that kind of thing, but you can add memory to a computer, it shouldn't be that different with something like an Ipod. Of course I don't really know the logistics of it, so I'm really just curious.

Because it's not that big of a device, seriously, how many millimeters thick is it? And the piece of flash memory is soldered onto the board.

If you want a removable flash memory device, then that's what you should go buy.

Dude, check it out:

1. Spend the money for a new iPod. Keep iTunes.
2. Buy a non-Apple music player, convert your files to MP3s. No iTunes this way, but it's cheaper.
3. Stick with what you have.

Pick one of the above.

This isn't a difficult situation.

No it's not, since I made up my mind this afternoon. I can afford to get a new Ipod, so I'm going to, as kind of my big Christmas gift for the year. I don't think I can stick with what I have, even though it's still useful and I can still keep it, and not really sure how to convert the files, or at least I don't want to screw anything up. Still, I learned something from this thread today, which is always nice. :)

Make a playlist, burn it to an audio cd, then rip that cd back into itunes as mp3 files.

Conversion taken care off.

I have to say, when I saw the title with the underline, it looked like "Should I upgrade Toods?"

Yeah! Damn straight!. Don't take no crap! :D

So, what did you get? More importantly ;) what color did you choose?

Haven't gotten it yet, but still thinking about staying with Blue, and the Nano 16 Gig.

Blue is a good choice, though I went with the purple. :) Go get it already, before you talk yourself out of it. ;)

I know people rag on iPods, Apple, and iTunes a lot, but I have had nothing but good experiences with all. Perhaps there is a price premium, but you get what you pay for.

That's pretty much how I sit with all my Apple products including the iPhone and Macbook. It's such a luxury to not have the operating system come crashing down every time you accidently blow on the machine. ;)

Unfortunately that quality comes with a heftier price tag.
