Should Harcourt Fenton Mudd's Wife Appear in Star Trek XI?

We all know by now that Abrams and Co. are trying to reboot/reimagine/continue the voyages of Star Trek by making it accessible to new viewers.

It is therefore perfectly obvious and natural for many fans in this forum to want Abrams to cram into the movie all the minutia that bogged down the franchise in the first place.

For this reason, I demand that we see Harcourt Fenton Mudd's wife in Star Trek XI. If we don't see her in person, we should at least see a photograph of her on the wall somewhere. Or maybe she could have a starship named after her. She was integral to Star Trek. What was her name again?

And if we can't have her, we simply must have Tuvix.

I DEMAND IT!

And what actor should play Tuvix?

I think it should be someone from the cast of Heroes, because that show is really hot right now. An actor from a currently hot show practically guarantees a performance that will stand the test of time.

If this movie were being made a few years ago, I would have insisted on an actor from Lost. But the bloom is sort of off the rose with that show, so it would make no sense at this point to get an actor from that show.

And who should play Dabo Girl #3? I think we should wait to see how Bionic Woman is received by the Comic-Con crowd. If it becomes hot, we can mine the hell out of that show.

I wish Abrams would just let us write this movie. We'll make it newbie accessible. Just as long as they've reviewed their copy of the Star Trek Encyclopedia first.

Quapla'!

Re: Should Harcourt Fenton Mudd's Wife Appear in Star Trek X

I think that they should just have a character called put-your-fanboy-idea-here and call it a day.

Re: Should Harcourt Fenton Mudd's Wife Appear in Star Trek X

I like that idea - a generic, unnamed character who afterwards everyone can say, "Look, did you see how they had [insert obscure reference here] in that scene? Damn, that Abrams really loves the fans!"

absolutely. She should be in it, but updated with big guns and cool flashy lights.

Maybe she should be a yellow colored, animated figure from a town called Springfield, who can spin webs from her wrists and climb walls like a spider, but is also a Transformer and a child prodigy who learned her magic casting abilities at Hogwarts . . .

I will start a petition to boycott any and all future Trek is Stella Mudd isn't included.

Stella! That's it.

Goddamn she was critical to Star Trek. So critical that I couldn't remember her name.

She must be in the movie. Must.

Re: Should Harcourt Fenton Mudd's Wife Appear in Star Trek X

Of course she is... she's the mystery blonde Gary Mitchell sent Kirk's way during their academy days. It's all so obvious this must be in de vilm. :D

Re: Should Harcourt Fenton Mudd's Wife Appear in Star Trek X

Maybe Maxi Mounds can play her?

Re: Should Harcourt Fenton Mudd's Wife Appear in Star Trek X

They should do it like the simpsons movie, and have every character ever seen on the show appear somewhere in the background.

Is that only characters with speaking roles, or any background extras that were ever drawn? Do they save those character sheets?

Re: Should Harcourt Fenton Mudd's Wife Appear in Star Trek X

No. There's no way any other actor could capture Stella the way Kay Elliot did. Recasting the role would be ruining my most precious childhood memory: A horde of nagging robotic wives pursuing a fat guy.

I'm not sure, but I think the used only characters with speaking roles.

I like Hortas. I think there should defintely be some Hortas in this movie...

Yeah, Stella, Tuvix, and Hortas...I'd be a happy camper.

:)

Just don't change the Enterprise exterior too much, and let the characters we know be similar enough that we recognize them, and it'll be OK.

The heck with Stella - I want to see Madeline!!! If Madeline doesn't enter through somebody's door and interrupt something in this movie, I WILL NOT GO TO SEE IT. End of story!

Samuel T Cogley is now my favorite poet.

Ima hook you up with Eminem and get this turned into a #1 hit Rap track.

Re: Should Harcourt Fenton Mudd's Wife Appear in Star Trek X

I think the teaser should be a black screen, then the opening bars of the theme music, suddenly cut off with that needle-scraping-the-record sound effect, and Harry yelling, "Shut up, Stella!" Then there's a bright flash, and the "STAR TREK 12-15-08" logo.

Re: Should Harcourt Fenton Mudd's Wife Appear in Star Trek X

To hell with Stella: It's about time the Enterprise was updated so that it can Transform from a kickass starship with blue and red flame paintwork, into a gigantic space-going robot!

Oh yes, and the bad guy MUST be voiced by Hugo Weaving!!
