Should Discovery bring Kweijan back?

Garak234

Lieutenant Commander

Once justice for Kweijan's destruction is settled by the end of the season, should the DMA split out Kweijan for Book character mini arcs in later seasons or should the planet remain destroyed thus completely transforming long term Books character arcs?

I don't think they'll bring back the planets but I still suspect everyone on them is living on Nexus-style, hence Book's visions of his nephew and father.

Bringing back Kweijan would be the dumbest fucking idea. It would rob Book of his emotional arc and destroy what Season 4 is really about: not everything is going to be a win and even victories come at a price.

Similar to TSFS, when the price for getting Spock back was the death of Kirk's son. I'd say losing the Enterprise too, but that was replaced in the very next film, whereas David's death stuck and became a major plot point in Kirk's character arc during TUC.

What happened to Kweijan is part of Book's arc, how it changes him, and how it drives Book and Burnham in different directions.

Capture Book and clone him for Starfleet's next generation of spore drives, adding more angst to Book and his hatred for the Federation, and making Starfleet look shadier than ever.

The planet exploded into a thousand pieces, it didn't get absorbed intact by the DMA. What, are they going to piece it back together with some space tape and everything will be fine again?

It's gone, let it go.

It may still exist in an alternative universe though. W/Could he try to cross over to one?

I wouldn't place bets against it. If there's one thing I've learned from four seasons of Discovery, it's that if the writers feel that bringing the planet back is going to be the most dramatic and emotional twist, that planet's coming back.
