Should CGI be used to put feathers on the Dinosaurs in all the "Jurassic Park" movies?

Questioning what's accepted doesn't make something a conspiracy theory. All I'm pointing out is that nearly every feathered fossil is from China, where there are many fake fossils. Before there was a demand for them there weren't any. Just look at these for example:

Now both of those are from herbivores, but those scales are far more distinct than and feather impressions I've seen in any fossil except maybe for the archaeopteryx. I'm not saying that no dinosaurs had feathers, merely that one needs to be cautious about some of these discoveries, and some dinosaurs most definitely did not have feathers.

I think if the internet is aware of fake fossils, actual paleantologists keep this in mind as well...... ;)

Hoax fossils have been fooling them for years, with the most famous being piltdown man and archaeoraptor. Heck, it took nearly a century before they realized they'd put the wrong head on the apatosaurus and invented the brontosaurus.

Yeah, I know. So do they. They check this stuff pretty thoroughly. And sometimes a fake fossil will come through. But there is SO much evidence for feathered dinosaurs, that a few fake fossils isn't going to undermine that.

Anyway, back to topic.....

No, they shouldn't redo the CGI. So what if it's wrong? It's still fun to watch. And, as noted before, they talk about this in the movie itself. Heck, there's even a line in the book where Wu wants to go to a newer version of the dinosaurs, that look more like what people knew from movies; dumb, slow lizards. Since it turned out that what they had in the park was nothing like what people thought dino's actually looked and behaved like.

No, because as someone already pointed out, they were a product of their time and they went with what was known at the time, and it's also been pointed out that they were based on samples from various sources. In this way, they're merely a facsimile of the real thing, also based on how we thought they looked. Paleontology and with Dinosaurs in particular, is always a constantly evolving field where we're always learning more. And honestly, some very likely did have scales, but some also were very likely to have had feathers, just like how different animals have different properties. It's a varied world out there with different ecosystems.

One popular theory I've seen is that young T-Rexes had feathers and that as they grew, eventually lost them. One exhibit that I've volunteered for at our local science center presented this theory, and seeing as some dinosaurs exhibit bird-like traits, it does make sense. Personally, I find the idea fascinating.

As for the theory itself, it was accepted within the scientific community, long before it actually became public knowledge. That last bit only started getting a push about 7 years or so ago, roughly speaking, which is when the fakes started popping up. I have an Uncle who's a rather successful paleontologist who actually filmed a documentary on this subject, so he would know.

No.

That's like saying:

"Should every Science Fiction film that mentions Pluto is a planet be re-dubbed to say it's a Dwarf planet?"

Here is my idea for a futuristic Jurassic Park imovie.

Some time travel involved, and the CGI makes the dinosaurs look as uninteresting as you can make them. Ugly with feathers--then the asteroid strikes as our heroes depart.

That or a history--with Harryhausen dinos in black and white, the CGI monsters, then--right as the asteroid hits--then you show the feathers--so you aren't losing anything ;)
