Short animation of Warbirds decloaking on Enterprise D

This is a test of a new effect I designed to make the Warbirds decloak with a watery ripple like effect as opposed to just fading in.

I always loved the way they did it. I believe they filled a pan of water and filmed the water ripple and overlayed it over the video of the warbird model. Innovative for its time. I often admire 80s and 90s gimmicks and trickery before we got CGI.

Thanks. Its amazing how the made some stuff. Like in redemption where they create a solar flare they poured salt onto a light and then in post production it looks realistic
