Ship Changes in STID (Possible spoilers?)

A possible in-universe explanation for the change in appearance of the bridge: Maybe it´s not a new bridge at all, but the whole bridge module can be lowered into the superstructure for protection. So in the first pic you only see a part of the window, since it´s in the lowered position and in the second one the bridge would be fully extended. Granted, it would make more sense to completely hide the bridge-window from view and possible damage, but still.

Great, now I'm picturing the bridge pumping it's hydraulics like some warp-powered lowrider.

I preferred the older engines too - the new ones reminded me when the facelift an older model of car and stick ghastly grills and lights on it
