I am so proud that I remember my password, especially since I havn't logged in for what, like a year?!
I think as a former mod and a certified ancient in this place, you'd grant me a short ramble and hello.
Hi Everybody!
Who is still here? Is Captain Wacky still around? Does he still do his funny shit? He was 80% of the reason this place rocked.
Whats the state of the world of science fiction like these days? What is the latest shows of flavour around these parts? I have to admit I watch absolutely no television unless it involves Playmates, Kardashians or hostile takeover of Hair Saloons.
I have a seriously bad case of real life that has struck me, and unfortunately I have been told there is no cure! I actually now play a team sport (Rugby Union) and I am absolutely loving it! Well the season just finished so I am loving the fact I have 2+ evenings a week and my Saturdays back to myself... for a short while at anyrate. All us guys seem to still hang and socialize with each other way to much. No such thing as time apart! LOL. In fact we just had a major fundraiser which involved me wrestling a fella from a Sydney team in red jelly (trust me - it wasn't all that it was cracked up to be - next year I am lobbying for cream corn!). To top it off I was actually toured with the Sydney team to Minneaopolis back in June for an international tournament. And you'll might like to know you are now speaking to a world champion
Okay B-Grade Gay Rugby Union, but we still won! It was great!
I gotta admit I absolutely loved Minneapolis. Granted I was there for a week, in lovely warm summer weather. Mall of America was... interesting... Granted I basically spent 3 hours with a couple of the other guys just riding the rides at the themepark (Other then the I Love Minnesota Shop - The Mall of America is just another bloody Mall!)
I actually caught up with another Trekbbs member! I caught up with Huntingdon a few weeks later in London - great meeting such a good guy after speaking to him for 8 years (holy crap!). He took me to Canary Wharf (pity no battle scars remain) and Greenwich Common (where everybody from the big first London Meetup met like 5 years ago). Still catch up with a few of the Sydney crew (mainly AdamJ and SJ) now and then!
So now I am in my 30s, older but not necessarily wiser. I don't intend to grow up ever. Somebody please let me know if I actually ever do.
So how is everybody! Wuzzup peeps?
