She bit the hand that fed her

What's with all the Bay love? Maybe he is and asshole to work with and she's being honest with us.

And how many films has Megan Fox directed?

I believe the question in her case is how many posters has she sold?

Oh, and I'm sure Michael Bay would have every right to fire back with something along the lines of, Megan Fox is a stuck-up bitch who couldn't act her way out of a paper bag. So who's right and who's wrong? ;)

It's all personal opinion - why shouldn't anyone be able to say whatever the hell they want?

Hell, I can see where a good publicity battle would only increase interest in a movie as people wonder what all the hubbub is about.

The simple fact is, actors really have very few legs to stand on. It was her job to act, to say the lines that the writers want her to, in the manner that the director wants her to. If she can't do that, then adios. Actors work for the directors, not the reverse.
Without actors then directors have no one to play with or writers to say their lines. This director has more power in this case but say Tom Cruise wants to make Mission Impossible 4 or 5 or whatever they're up to now: the studio is going to care more about Cruise being happy than whomever the director is. Same thing in TV on regular series. TV shows are a producer's medium with contracted actors being far more important than hired gun directors.

Who's got power isn't really the issue IMO, so much as the inequity and thereby inefficiency of it. If a director is terrible with actors or just too caught up in his own little world to listen to constructive criticism, then he's not giving us the best movie we viewers can get.

And as for Fox, like I said, I'm sure she'll be fine. It's one thing for an established celebrity to stir things up and another for some day extra on their first gig ever.

^The difference between Tom Cruise and Megan Fox is somewhere in the billions of dollars one has generated at the box office and the other has not.

Fox is easily replaceable. There are thousands of good looking young women in Hollywood, most of whom can act a hell of a lot better than Fox can.

^ Arpy's example of Cruise is a bit flawed, because almost all of his movies have had talented and creative name directors who brought something legitimate to the table. Hell, even the Cocktail director was coming off of No Way Out and The Bounty.

Sylvester Stallone, on the other hand, did have a big reputation for working with no-name directors he could control.

People have different tastes in the way women look, you aren't required to understand. What I don't understand is why people like to call her a whore and a slut and a meth-addict every time her name comes up. Regardless of the fact that she's apparently a bit of a bitch, I'm not sure what she did to deserve that much hate.

Though in my opinion only about half the guys who say they prefer "meaty looking/average looking" girls for a one night stand only say that because that's what they need to keep telling themselves. I'd shag her silly.

Not only would I do what you said, I'd also tickle her feet silly, and NEVER let go or get away from her.:techman:;)

Meh

Apart from the scene in TF1 where Megan bends over Bumblebee's engine and Shia mouthing "Oh my god.." (mirroring every last males and probably some females thoughts ) she was completely forgettable in the movies.

She is a hot looking woman but she is eye candy.. give me a slightly less hot woman but with increased acting skills and the writers have her do more than just being damsel in distress and running away with boobs bouncing.

The difference is, Tom Cruise is a major star with clout. Megan Fox is disposable. Expendable. Replaceable.

Michael Bay, for all his supposed faults, is an experienced director. He's got more leverage in this business than Fox ever will have. He might have a problem if he went up against someone with Tom Cruise's stature, but against a non-entity like Fox, he'll win every time.

Guys my replies have been about more than Megan Fox, whom I could go either way with - I don't know/remember exactly what she said about what when and why and don't care enough to search for it. The Cruise example was meant to combat the notion that only directors have power when it comes to making movies. I got to Fox at the bottom of the post when I said "As for Fox..."

So she's out of Transformers - it sucks but there you have it. She's made more money than I'll ever see and gotten plenty of exposure - she's got a bright future if she merits it. I'm more interested in the breakdown of what seems an Old Hollywood way of doing things. And if a little freedom of speech for those who make movies, and a little enlightenment of what really goes on for those who watch movies are up for grabs, I say thank you Megan Fox for daring to speak your mind and taking a personal hit in the interests of change.
