You do know that Kirk's father is named George, right?
You do know that Kirk's father is named George, right?
I wouldn't have known it without looking it up, but it seems that one or more novels have James T's brother as George Samuel, Junior, and thus their father would very likely also be George. George Samuel, Jr., is rumored to be making an appearance in the movie. You do know that Kirk's father is named George, right?
The only George Kirk I'm aware of is George Samuel Kirk, James T's brother, played by William Shatner in Operation Annihilate; I've never heard or seen anything onscreen identifying the names of his parents.

Fun thread... heheh... Shatner wouldn't do it... He's the only one who was unwilling to reprise his role in any of the series.
Shatner was willing to do ENT, but quibbled on price.
K'riq Sa may, of course, wish to revise his conjecture slightly in light of this.![]()

None of it is actually canon at this point, to my knowledge, but there you go.

With the exception of the novelization of First Contact, I haven't read any of the novels, which is why I needed to look it up. However, I am aware that most people likewise do not consider the novels to be any sort of real or official authority on Star Trek canon; I was agreeing with you and offering some small elaboration on the topic.Eh, I never consider the novels to be a reliable source, that's why I included the qualifyer 'on screen' in my statement. According to the novels, we're to belive that at one point, Picard and company fought along side the X-men; I don't think so.
TNG and X-Men, hmmm? Interesting, maybe; fun, possibly; but a bit silly, I think.![]()

Would have made a good movie. Stewart would have been paid double.

Besides, we know that Chris Hemsworth, whoever he is, has been cast in the role of George Kirk.![]()
I have this book. It's been years since I've read it, but I think it was a pretty fun read.TNG and X-Men, hmmm? Interesting, maybe; fun, possibly; but a bit silly, I think.![]()

I think I heard that they even made a small refrence about the resemblence in the book, which I belive was actually published a few years before the first X-Men movie.
