Shatner Should Play A Centaur In Trek XI

The Wormhole

So nearly everyone wants Shatner to be in Trek XI, even Shatner himself. However, the arguments against it is that Kirk was killed in Generations. So I say, why not have Shatner play a different role?

So then how about a centaur? After all, Shatner's into horse riding, this'll be kind of like playing a horse. I'm sure Abrams could write a subplot into the movie about the Enterprise visiting a planet populated by centaurs with Shatner playing their leader.

Opinions?

A great big ol' Clydesdale-based centaur that is still so top-heavy it topples over when it tries to walk.

Sounds grand.

This just in: Shatner cast as giant throw-rug on floor of Starfleet Command.

I heard the real reason Shatner can't be in the movie is because he's the star in a remake of Ice Pirates

Kirk is still alive and well in the Nexus. They could bring him back wherever - and whenever - they like, until the sad time when Shatner sheds the Mortal Coil. I really don't get the debate.

I do, however, agree that his return should make sense in the continuity of the story and not simply be a matter of "stunt casting".

^^ "stunt casting" of the nature you describe would probably make the movie a lot less enjoyable for me.
