William Shatner called into Howard Stern this morning. Howard asked him if he was upset that he wasn't invited to do Star Trek XI, and Shatner said that while he's not upset, he would like to be a part of it. Howard tried to tell him that he should just move on and concentrate on Boston Legal. Shatner also said that JJ Abrams came to the set of Boston Legal to talk to him about being in the new film, but that afterwards, Abrams never called him.

Howard got William Shatner on the phone and asked him to get off the speaker phone. Shatner said that he hadn't spoke to Howard in years. Howard said that's because ever since he got on that ''Boston Legal'' show he hasn't been coming in. Howard asked Bill why he's upset about not being in the new Star Trek. Bill said that he really doesn't care, they're making a big deal out of a comment he made about not being in the movie.
Bill said that he thinks it was a stupid decision not to put him in the movie. They have Leonard Nimoy in the movie. Howard said that no one really cares about Nimoy anymore and a lot of people are enjoying Bill on this TV show so he's probably got more of a draw than Nimoy does. Bill said that he's a good friend of his though and he's not upset about that.
Howard asked Bill if he's upset about George Takei having success on Heroes. Bill said he doesn't know who that is. He said he really doesn't think about it. Howard asked him if he would do a Star Trek movie without Nimoy. Bill said he has done that before so he wouldn't have a problem doing it. He said it's really not a wise business decision not to have both of them in the movie in his opinion. Robin said that they're not getting any younger either.
Howard asked Bill about this Boston Legal show and how long ago he did that. Bill said they're in their fourth season now. Howard figured that Bill must have signed a contract that he wasn't so thrilled with and wondered if he renegotiated. Bills aid that this is the final year of the contract and if they want him to stay, they'll have to come up with something more. He said that he's abided by the contract over the four years but he has told them that they'll have to renegotiate if they get renewed for another season. Howard asked him if they're doing well in the ratings. Bill said that they are doing pretty well. Howard asked Bill what kind of money he makes doing those shows. Bill said he doesn't want his kids to know what kind of money he's making so he doesn't talk about that on the air.
Howard talked to Bill about pre-nups and things like that. Howard also brought up how they haven't seen each other in a long time. Bill said that he had dinner with Howard one time and hasn't called him since. He said that he treated him just like JJ Abrams did with the Star Trek movie.
Howard said that Bill always has these side businesses going on and he's got a new one to talk about today. Bill said that this one is great and he likes that Howard lets him come on and talk about it. He said he's got a book and a DVD out called ''Star Trek: The Academy--Collision Course'' and ''Exodus.'' Shatner is also going to be doing a book signing at Tahiti Village and they're willing to put people up at the hotel out there for 2 nights and 3 days all for free. The catch is that there is no catch. Howard said he's heard this stuff before and there is a catch. Dominic Barbara said that Mickey Rooney is doing the exact same thing two weeks after Shatner is. Howard talked about some of the other celebs who are doing that stuff and how they promote this Tahiti Village thing. Butch Patrick, Buzz Aldren and a bunch of others have been on the show promoting it. Dominic wondered why Shatner would be doing it because he seems to be the kind of guy who must be really wealthy. Howard said that he takes money any way he can get it. Shatner was promoting paintball and phone cards not too long before he got the job on ''Boston Legal.'' He said he loves that guy.
